Villa Vistosa

A restored Tuscan farmhouse above Lucca

Your Home Away

Our charming, rustic-style villa is nestled on the panoramic hills of Ciciana, in the heart of the Terre di Matraia — one of the most picturesque areas of Tuscany, renowned for its excellent wines and home to some of the region’s oldest and most beautiful historic villas. The medieval town of Lucca is just a 20-minute drive away, yet the villa feels wonderfully secluded, surrounded by peace, light, and open skies. The villa enjoys a tranquil and inspiring atmosphere, enriched by breathtaking panoramic views that stretch across the rolling Tuscan countryside. It is a place where time slows down and nature gently sets the rhythm of the day. Originally a hunting lodge, the house has been lovingly restored and brought back to life through the owners’ skilled and meticulous renovation. Traditional Tuscan materials — cypress wood beams, pietra serena stone, and warm terracotta tiles — blend harmoniously with simple, elegant furnishings, creating a space that feels both authentic and welcoming. The property is arranged over three floors and offers 11 bedrooms divided into four independent apartments, along with generous shared living areas. This thoughtful layout makes the villa ideal for large groups, retreats, and workshops, allowing guests to enjoy time together while also having the comfort of private, independent spaces. Every corner of the house invites relaxation, creativity, and connection, leaving guests with lasting memories of an authentic Tuscan stay. What we do /courses : Our retreats are an invitation to slow down and create.  Rooted in painting, sketching, and the visual arts, they unfold in harmony with the simple pleasures of Tuscany — shared meals, local wine, and journeys through timeless landscapes. Art here is not rushed or forced; it grows naturally, nourished by beauty, light, and meaningful moments. We welcome artists of all levels. Whether you are picking up a pencil for the first time or deepening an established practice, this is a space where curiosity is encouraged and every creative voice is valued. Set within an inspiring Tuscan environment, our all-inclusive art retreats are designed to refresh the spirit, awaken the senses, and gently expand your way of seeing. Drawing, painting, and observing become quiet rituals — ways to reconnect with yourself and the world around you. Tuscany’s hills, colours, and ever-changing light have a way of guiding the hand and opening the imagination, inviting you to explore without pressure or expectation.
